Atoma: WarMongers is a card game/fighter with static backgrounds and 2D character sprites. The only animation, so far as I see, will be contact animation only (WIP?).
The cards will be the driving force of the action. 60+ cards in a deck, 1/2 deck = doubles, each with a punch, kick, jump, block and a number (randomized at design). The deck will be shuffled by AI and you receive a set amount of cards, then you will have 30 seconds to arrange them to your "first use" order and then they will "Rapid Fire" against the computer (or, synchronous/asynchronous multiplayer) kind of like the basic card game War. Set number of cards, set number of rounds (2?). Whichever card has the highest number when put against (AI/other player card) will determine which player does the action (punch/kick/block/etc) and the cards will flash quickly on the screen with the AI choosing the highest. Possibly, there could be pairs added, like a jump and a kick card to do damage and a half.
After the cards are run against each other (1 to 1 style) the player who took the least amount of damage is the winner (best 2 out of 3).
The characters will be "Automaton" in origin and could have mini origins. Think of choosing a character and having them duke it out up the ladder for control of an industrial world (a la Mortal Kombat).
Either way, this is the first game I'm trying to complete with other Indie Game Developers. I'd also like to find a way to add asynchronous multiplayer for Phones or Apps.
